The Past Blasters

Remember these guys? You probably don't.
The Goomba on top is Gary S. He's living history, a Red-Footed Goomba. These are native to large wood blocks with giant metal boxes, found in worlds 1 and 5 of Super Mario Bros. 3.
The Koopa in the middle is Mint, another relic, a shoeless Koopa, disappearing since Dinosaur Island was discovered. She just is exploiting the fact that things won't weigh her down a bit, so she can carry the Past Blasters.
The Pihrahna Plant on her right is a Flatlands Pihrana Plant, only seen in Super Mario Bros. 1. It is the brute force of the operation, holding most items and attacking.
The Boo is Bo, a strange Glow-Boo, actually inhabiting castles instead of ghost houses. His job is also to carry things, but not use them. Only in dire circumstances. Also, those are afterimages, not different enemies.

Together, they form the Past Blasters. Their job is to preserve and fight for the common enemies that get stomped, burned, kicked, thrown into pits, crushed, shattered when frozen, stepped on to higher jumps, etc. Their only solace is respawn, but that won't stop the terror of the many lives lost. Although Bowser is a menace, they try to put Mario in a negative light, too. Of course, Mario will just stomp their forgotten heads into the ground, removing living history until he revisits the level.

This is supposed to be an affectionate parody of Nintendo, not an attack, using original characters.

This round is for Video Games: Anything you can play on a screen, so I chose the ever-popular Mario series.
