The Unrested

Mackenna Johnson was a young girl who loved to explore the ghost town around her. she was nine years old and loved the way the old buildings looked, sad and broken but full of character and mysteries. her parents sometimes worried about her, as she would always run home each day and say she was playing with her friend, Layla in the old buildings. this would be considered normal behavior- for most. why would she be different you might ask?
they were the only people living there.
there had been a terrible, almost apocalyptic epidemic of ebola, a disease that causes you to bleed to death. many people had moved out of the country to find a better land, but the family couldn't let the place go, it was where their youngest daughter had died and Mackenna said she didn't want to leave her sister by herself.
one day Mackenna had come home to tell her parents Layla wanted her to come with her.  the parents, concerned about their daughter told her to stop going out into the abandoned streets and stay inside to play. Mackenna was not pleased with this decision and in the middle of the night went to play with Layla. no one ever knew what happened to her, some say she got the virus while others say they found her dead in the yard of her family's old house, beside the gravestone of her sister, Layla Johnson.
