Winter is here

"When the war was over, everybody thought we could close the book on it. But even though many people survived, the aftermath was just getting started. Beeing from Austria and living in the mountains, I was quite accustomed to the cold - yet I never would've expected it to be so cold that the water in your body could freeze if you wouldn't keep it warm.
The fact that it was early winter didn't help either, it only made things worse.

I took all my belongings I could carry, grabbed every lighter I could find and went straight south.

I am now close to the italian border. hoping to catch one of the few icebreakers to africa (to reach the equator) that put out to sea once every month, if the weather is on my side. But at the moment, it doesn't look like it's getting any better - it's even starting to hail again..."
