ET was considered the bane of Atari and named on many top 10 lists "The Worst Game". ET was made in 1982 for the Atari 2600. Due to a Christmas deadline, developer Howard Scott Warshaw had only 5 and a half weeks to develop the game. The game was very buggy (understandably), but was also criticized on the game play, in that it made no sense. ET has to collect pieces of a telephone and candy. There is an FBI agent after him that will take away one piece of candy or telephone if he touches you. ET dies when his energy bar runs out. Rumors of old ET cartridges being thrown into a land dump in New Mexico were not proved true until a documentary called "Video Games : The Movie" released in 2014 showed footage of the landfill being dug up, revealing the old ET cartridges.
