Freddie Mercury was born in 1946 on Zanzibar. In 1964 Freddie and his family were forced to move to Engalnd due to the Zanzibar revolution.
Later on in 1970 he formed the band 'Queen' with Brian May and Roger Taylor. This band earned worldwide success after releasing countless hits such as; 'We are the champions', 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and 'We will rock you'.
Freddie Mercury was well known for his amazing on stage performances. During his prime he released several solo albums featuring songs such as; 'Living on my own'.
However all good things come to an end. In mid-late 80s it was rumoured that he was diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. As his condition got worse he was more or less forced to hide from the public. He later died in 1991 after years of denying the rumours.
This is not only my entry for the retro contest, but also my tribute to a great musician whose music was some of the first I heard. Queen's music has always been a huge part of my life and their music will continue to inspire me for years to come.
