Emperor Rīme, The Lord of Frost.
“Long ago there lived a king. He was noble, and a great ruler. But calamity struck his land. Famine, war, disease, and disputes brought his kingdom to ruin. Before he knew it, everyone in his kingdom had either died, or fled to other lands. The king did not know what he had done. ‘Have I been cursed?’ He wondered while sitting in his empty castle. For some time the king had spent his life dwelling in this empty kingdom; lonely, sad, and ever hungry. Until one day. While the king has going for a walk, it began to snow. Snow wasn’t supposed to fall in this area; but he simply brushed it off as a freak of nature. But the snow kept coming, and soon much of his kingdom had become buried in the snow. Now the king was cold, and he feared for his life. But the king was stubborn, and he didn’t want to give up all he had. So against better judgement, he stayed, and soon enough he was on the verge of death. He was starving, cold, and worst of all he was all alone. Soon he fell down and took his last breath.”
“But that is not where the story ends.”
“The king was reawaken. As he got up, he found that he was cold, when he went to touch his skin, he found ice instead. Suddenly, he found that he was not alone. In front of him stood Aἰθήρ. The god had found pity in his story, and sought to give the man a second chance. He had made the king’s castle much larger, and Aἰθήρ spoke to him.”
“You have a new purpose now, you are to be a prison warden. When either me or the other gods find someone who opposes us, we will bring them here to suffer. But they will be turned into weaklings, monsters. They will be called the Krul. You will have control over a mystical army, which will help you keep these prisoners in check. But you are not to conquer over lands. Or else your life will be taken back as easily as it was given.”
“And so the king had a new purpose, a chance to redeem himself for how poorly he did in his previous life. And so the king became known as the lord of frost.”
“Emperor Rīme, The Lord of Frost.”
