Ume kimono Minecraft Skin

Description from original post (created 2018-12-26 04:39):

This is a houmongi kimono I made for February. The color combination is called "ume" that means "plum" and it is meant for February because that is approximately when the plum trees blossom (https://wafuku.wordpress.com/2011/05/15/japanese-colour-names-seasonal-combinations/). The pattern on the kimono and obi is also about plum blossoms. The obi is wrapped in otaiko musubi that goes well with the formal kimono.

The hair is done in the traditional shimada hairstyle and I've added some kanzashi. The collar is folded with the left side overlapping the right (as it should) and the back of the collar is pulled down to reveal the nape of the neck. The collar is very faint on this assemble because either there isn't a large color contrast between the eri, date'eri and kimono or additional date'eri isn't used. You can choose the explanation you like more. The actual collar of the kimono is made out of the same fabric as the kimono so there shouldn't be a large color change to indicate that in reality. It's the layers under the kimono that can add that splash of color. I've also made a faint line on the kimono under the obi to indicate the ohashori fold. And finally I've made her wear zori and white tabi socks as should is proper with a formal kimono.

Kimonos are a hobby of mine and I hope I've gotten the details mostly right! ^___^
