Description from original post (created 2018-12-10 08:49):
This is a furisode kimono I made for winter. The color combination is trying to match a combination called "yukinoshita" (https://wafuku.wordpress.com/2011/05/15/japanese-colour-names-seasonal-combinations/) which as far as I know translates to "under the snow". Although I could totally be wrong. I drew the pattern to represent fans and the occational flower.
The obi is wrapped in tateya musubi (diagonal arrow knot) that is apparently specifically made for furisode kimono. I tried to place all the folds, obiage and obijime as they would really be located in relation to one another. Obi almost always has a pattern as well, but with so few pixels it's hard to do. To go with the more formal furisode kimono and obi musubi she's wearing zori (sandals), tabi (socks) and more kanzashi in her hair.
The hair is done in the traditional shimada hairstyle (although a hairstyle meant for younger people could also be used). The collar is folded with the left side overlapping the right (as it should) and the back of the collar is pulled down at the back even if it shows little under the obi that's tied high. I've also made a very faint line under the obi and a disruption of pattern to indicate an ohashori fold.
Kimonos are a hobby of mine and I hope I've gotten most of the details right! ^___^
