General info on requesting and making Skins

EGreetings!

I have noticed that a lot of the skin requests lack of information and details and some of the skin makers are not very informative either. So I created this small list of things that would make the skin-making/requesting a bit easier.

Requesting a Skin

1. Remember that simplicity is the key, it's difficult to create a skin of some ultra-hyber-super computer game hero.
2. There is no need to always make a new thread for a request, just make a post in some skin maker's thread.
3. If you want a particular skin, make sure to check if there already is a one that fits you. Just search it from Google or some Minecraft skin site like Miners Need Cool Shoes.
4. Pictures are the best source to make a skin, but some word descriptions are useful aswell.
5. If you want one skin to be added to some other, please specify what parts you want to be transfered from one skin to another.
6. Give the skin maker time, everyone has a real life and making skins is not always a 5-minute job.
7. Always thank the skin-maker for the time and effort, show some gratitude.
8. When you got a custom made skin, never go around saying that you made it, it's not nice to take credit from other people's work.

Making a skin

1. If you take a request, you must fulfill it, unless something comes in and you cannot complete it. In that case, apologize to the one that wanted to the skin and explain why you can't do it.
2. Remember, be kind and friendly to the client, help him on choosing the skin, give ideas etc. Never say that the skin he wants is childish or ugly, everyone's different.
3. If you are making a skin for someone, remember - quality over speed. That means that rather take more time, but make the skin more beautiful. But also try not to make the skins longer than day or two, noone likes waiting.
4. Be prepared to remake the skin, incase the client is not happy, though that doesn't happen very often.
5. If you need more details or info on the skin, feel free to ask the client about them to make skin-making easier for you.
6. Never ask money or anything like that for a skin, for they are free and can be used by anyone.
7. You don't always have to make a new skin to fulfill someone's request, pick an existing one that matches the description and edit it a bit for the client's needs, that saves time and is more effective.

Hope this makes it easier for all of us. ^.^

Best regards,
