Its quite easy I will go through the steps
1 go to a skin maker and make a custom skin or go to the skindex
2 make sure Minecraft is closed
3 there is a usually a button that says upload click that it will bring you to Minecraft.net it will say are sure you want to change your skin? click yes it will then say your skin has been changed
