Snow Leopard

My Snow Leopard for the Arctic Skin contest!

The spotted Snow Leopard trudged through the snow. It looked side to side, and continued walking.

It had been a harsh winter, and her family was weak. The only way to save them, they said, was to get enough food

for everyone.

So she had to do exactly that.

Suddenly, she scented something. Quite musky, yet fresh and cold.

She peeked around the tree, and saw a horrifying sight.

It was one of the most dangerous creatures, the Polar Bear, closing in on two Snow Leopard cubs.

On instinct, she pelted out behind the tree, running toward the two cubs, and slammed into a furry white wall.

The Polar Bear had faced the Snow Leopard, and slammed a paw into the side of her face.

She was flung back, face stinging, against a wall. She looked up to see the Polar Bear looming over her.

Also, she saw two white spotted bundles climbing up it's back.

She stood up, the Polar Bear distracted, and started ripping, teeth and claws, at it's hide.

After a while, the Polar Bear slammed on the ground, dying.

The Snow Leopard sniffed the bear, and remembered what she had to do.

She ripped some meat off, and helped the to cubs back home.

It was a good day for everyone.

Except the Polar Bear.
