Her Story
There once was a little girl by the name of Amelia. Born and raised on a merchant ship, she spent her early life learning the basics of the merchant trade. Her parents taught her all there was to know about the ocean, and she was happy, carefree. But that couldn't last. When Amelia was ten, the merchant ship that she had grown up and lived on was seized by the notorious pirate, Blackbeard. It was set on fire, looted, her parents killed, and Amelia was horribly burned. By a twist of fate, one of the pirate crew found her, and brought her onto the ship, meaning to give as a hostage to Blackbeard. Despite her burns, Blackbeard's heart softened when he saw her, and he ordered his crew to nurse her back to health. She would be one of them. Slowly, over time, she healed, but the scars on her face never disappeared.
Despite her intense anger and hate for them, Amelia kept it inside her, never showing it. She was obedient, watching as they taught her the ways of the pirates, everything that her parents had forbidden her to do. There was adventure, surprise at every corner. She learnt quickly, and her hate slowly melted away, replaced by a stone cold heart, killing and looting with the other pirates. She was deadly, everything a pirate should be. Blackbeard grew to love her like a daughter. With all the gold and riches they had, she was gifted a mask, made of the finest metals, to cover her horrible scars on her face.
One day, many years later, Blackbeard was killed in battle.
She and the others mourned, but then she swore to take revenge. She wasn't the little, scared girl she was ten years ago. She was a formidable pirate, the adopted daughter of Blackbeard, feared by many. And so she took the name of the Masked Lady, sailing the seas, driving dread and fear into the hearts of whoever crossed her path for many more years. Indeed, there is a rumour, that to this day, if you see her ship, you are doomed.
