The Eleventh Doctor was played by the young and relatively unknown actor Matt Smith from 2010 to 2013. Smith brought many fans to the show, possibly more than there have ever been, and also helped bow-ties come back into style.. because their cool. He traveled with the overtly flirtatious ginger, the patient male nurse, the slightly older wife with tons of secrets under her frizzy hair, a big game hunter with a crush on Nefertiti, a worried dad, and an enigmatic girl in his run, as well as himself, well, two of himselves, in the 50th Anniversary special.
He died of old age in the 2013 Christmas Special.
