Well, here's my entry for the 'Life on the High Seas' contest.
Captain Draby, The Pirate Who went down with his ship.
Backstory Thing
Captain Draby, The captain of the ship, The Strain.
The Strain was a famous ship, but not as famous as its captain. Draby was known across the lands as the greatest plunderer. His ship was highly sought after for rumors of many valuables. People wanted to steal his ship and take his booty, others, very few, wanted his ship sunk, along with the treasure.
For it would be his honor, which would end his reign of the seas.
Draby was sailing across the Northern Atlantic ocean. When a ship aproached from the horizon. The closer the two ships got the louder the yelling rolled over the waves. The Ships reached fighting sitance and the battle went on. After thirty minutes of guns ablazing and connon balls launching. Draby had won. He took over the enemies ship, hoping to start a fleet. When his first mate had pointed out his ship was sinking from the damage the enemy had done. Only the mast remained. Draby did not hesitate to throw his hat to his first mate, not explaining why he swam to his ship, he climbed the mast and saluted his crew as he sank, slowly, into the abyss.
His corpse now roams the ocean floor, plundering the fallen ships.
