Haryld the Merchant
A man of mystery, always seems to appear in every port, Haryld is from a long line of shopowners that keep stock of only the rarest of jewels and treasures. Growing up in the now-ruined town of Jigar, his family fled when the Great Reef War began, taking to the seas and making their livelihoods by trading wares for passage across the seas. After many years, they began to barter for golds as well as go with search parties to scavenge loot from fallen towns and cities.
A man of short temper, losing his eye to a duel over a woman's honor, he is known across the seven seas as The Gold Devil. Having contacts from ruffians to politicians, he is always on the move, travelling with various ships that will ferry him across the dangerous waters to safety. It is said that he has fought many a pirate and survived every encounter, but few have actually seen him do such a feat.
Donning a simple cloak, he doesn't care for fine clothing or housing. His home is on the blue waters that are always welcoming him, beckoning to stay forever. Adoping a boy during his travels, he hopes that one day he will follow in his footsteps, to become an even greater merchant than he.
