Swallowed, for contest, story in description!

Hey there peeps, and cheeps, and creeps, and meeps, and whatever the heck you are. This is my entry for the Life on the High Seas Contest. I hope you enjoy!

What all the things in the ocean scene are:

Front body center: Mermaid
Front body top left: Shark
Front of arms: Fish
Bottom front: Throne: Poseidon's Throne with seaweed.
Front head center: Man
Head sides: Whale
Back body center: Narwhal (.^.)
Back body arms: Oil spill
Bottom back: Atlantis

Story:

    "Once there was a young man by the name of Jerald, ever since he was young he dreamed of becoming a sailor at any costs. Once day when he was exactly eighteen (It was his birthday) he decided to ask his wealthy parents for money to leave his small island of Atlantistil (Made up) to go sailing. They agreed quickly, and proudly to their son which was overjoyed at the idea of going and feeling the ocean breeze. Despite being on an island they were surrounded by mountains which meant unless you lived outside of them the coast would be hard to reach. In the center there was a volcano, it was known to erupt at almost any point in time. He waved goodbye to his parents and went off only having some bread and water, and the money he was given in the small sack he had. After about five hours of the hot sun beating down on him he settled down for the night. He saw that the bread he had brought must of fallen out on the way, or had been taken by one of the many sea birds that lived at Atlantistil. He had no food so he made a spear out of wood and threw it at the first bird he saw. It fell out of the sky and landed a few feet in front of him. He ate it eagerly; the funny thing was that bird was the one that took his bread. He used a few of the feathers from the bird and laid them out as some sort of a bed. He tossed and turned until eventually he fell asleep, it was probably one of the worst nights to have no home, suddenly he woke up at a scream and looked up to see magma spewing everywhere. He got up, without his sack and ran; he got to the nearest mountain and immediately started looking for a foothold. He soon found a pattern of rocks going up the mountain and immediately started thrusting himself up the steep mountainside. He eventually got to the top but encountered another problem, how the heck would he get down? He looked behind himself to see the magma slowly oozing up the mountain. He looked in front of himself again and saw that the shore was beach was slim where he was. He closed his eyes and jumped praying to land in the water. SPLASH! Everything went dark and his eyes burned but he started to swim up, and in what seemed like hours made it to the beach. Then it hit him, how was he going to start sailing now? The island was known to be completely covered in lava sometimes, and he couldn't stay for long. He used all his strength to start pushing down a few of the small trees on the out skirts of the mountains. He took some vines, and grass and started to make a raft. He grabbed some fruit from the trees and jumped onto the raft, seeing that the lava was starting to go over the mountain. He started to panic as in a few hours a log on the raft fell off. He grabbed it and tied it back on, then he remembered the Cetonian Ocean was filled with some of the largest whaled in the world, and a lot of them. He was safe for a few days but then ran out of food and was dead tired. He couldn't sleep at all, he got sea sick and barfed every five minutes. He couldn't go much longer like this, there was no land in sight and he couldn't sail back to his lava covered island. He couldn't go much longer before becoming insane. He soon gave up and just jumped into the seemingly bottomless ocean. He saw a huge grey creature with a horn (Narwhal) coming towards him. Suddenly everything went black, he must of been there for hours but it merely felt like minutes before the whales mouth opened to show a vast city. He stepped out and was welcomed by a king like man, there were shops and huge buildings designed in a Greek like fashion littered around the city. He was welcomed by everyone and soon had a family, and lived happily. In many years he was the elder of the city, many people didn't believe his outlandish story that is being told to you now." "That was amazing mother, but of course it isn't true, Atlantis is fake." Lana (The mother) looked down and murmured, "Father Jerald I wish you were here, they still don't believe the story that I've told them so many times. At some point they will believe it and Atlantis will thrive." THE END.
