WHY DOES IT RELATE TO THE CONTEST?
I'd say the explenation is quite simple in this case.
As you might know, magma is a fluid that appears underneath the earth.
And the base of the skin is made out of magma, which relates to the contest that way.
That's the reason I called it coreseeker too, due to the appearance of magma in the core of the earth.
THE CORESEEKER
Once the coreseeker was actually Steve.
While making his way through Minecraftia, he once found a cave filled with magma.
Then he felt in accidently, and somehow all that magma sticked to him, so he looked exactly like this skin.
"Headaxe, you are the god of lore! *cri* "
ABOUT LAVA
Did you know, that lava is only called lava, as soon as it's above ground?
As soon as it appears above the ground, it is called lava.
And that's why Mojang does a huge mistake by calling magma lakes, "magma" lakes, instead of "lava" lakes in the game.
I Blame Jeb.
