The cold, harsh wind hit the girl's face. Her mother was sitting in the snow.
"Mommy, I'm cold."
The mother still just sat there. The child stumbled over to her and tugged her sleeve.
"Mommy..."
"We'll see him soon, honey. Just please be patient."
They just sat in the snow together, patiently waiting for him to arrive.
"Mommy, I'm cold."
A figure was outlined on the hill. It got closer. It kept moving until the child realized who it was.
It was Daddy.
The mother sat there still, too tired to move.
"DADDY!" She screamed and started to run over towards him. She fell over, snow sticking to her face. When she got up, the kind, gentle figure took off his coat and sat it on her back. The girl buttoned it up. It was a bit too big; it went over her hip and covered her hands. She pulled up the collar to warm her nose.
"Drddy, er mirsed yr." She said, her voice muffled from the coat's collar.
"I missed you too." He said while rubbing her head and messing up her hair. The mother still sat there.
But she smiled this time.
