Santa saw the apocalypse coming and hid in Vault 111 (fallout 4 joke) but when winter came he took the toys he was able to make during his 9 months unground and took to as many kids as he could. Along the way he got shot in the leg by a raider who he than shot and looted (hense the raider armor)
