Where is everyone?

Just 3 weeks ago, the bombs went off. Everything was destroyed. Cities are rubble, most people are ash and dust left to the wind. The skies are clouded with smoke and fallout, choking most of the initial survivors. Most, we say, because some were mutated. Mutated in a way that let them survive. Mutated in a way that made radiation nothing, the cold nothing, the lack of food nothing. The majority didn't survive past the first few days. Along with their strange resistance to radiation and cold, they also had other things to deal with. Often is was some stange affliction that made their limbs fall off when they would engage in strenous excersize. The survivors affected would then bleed out from the huge gaping wounds left by missing arms and legs. The few who didn't die this way were either killed by serious injury, infection, or even their fellow humankind. There's at least 2 documented suicides, due to what, we don't know. Possibly overwhelming stress at seeing the broken shards of what was their home once. The sight would drive almost anyone mad. But one person, one survivor out of the pack, she didn't go insane. She didn't die of sickness, or of losing her limbs. She never died. She's still alive, looking for another as strong as her. She has radioactive who-knows-what on her hands, and a coat of  ashen snow on her boots, showing the conditions she dwells in. A true nuclear winter. It has killed off most, but not all. There is, for the one and only time in Earth's history, a last human on earth.

Sorry for using such an unoriginal concept, I know there'll be hundreds of other lone survivor skins submitted, but I had to try with mine. Maybe I can be a finalist in my first contest, who knows?
