Magnates is a guild, occurring only in Gothic. This is the highest social stratum in Old Camp. Magnates are the richest in the entire colony. Guild was established after the Great Revolt in the Mining Valley, when the diggers with Gomez headed exploited a moment of inattention of the royal guard and took over the barrier. The strongest convicts were just magnates.They live in a castle in the old camp. Their leader was Gomez, who has ruled with an iron hand in the Old Camp. Raven is his deputy, Scar and Arto are his bodyguards, and Bartholo is responsible for the supply of the castle in the food and other items.
